adi Group Recognised for Its Fundraising Efforts, Receiving 100 Heroes Award for the Third Year
We attended the Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity's 100 Heroes Annual Awards at the Birmingham Library on Sunday, 9th March.
We were thrilled to receive a 100 Heroes Award for the third year in a row, which reflects the power of our team's collective efforts and the impact of every fundraiser.
This event, hosted annually by the charity, recognises its top fundraisers and supporters. It celebrates individuals, schools, community fundraisers, corporate supporters, trusts, foundations, and major donors who have made significant contributions to the hospital. Thanks to their efforts, the 100 Heroes raised an incredible ÂŁ2.5 million for the hospital.
Joining the event were Founder and Chairman Alan Lusty, along with several team members, including adi Intelligent Buildings Managing Director, David Barnes, who recently took on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, raising over ÂŁ15,000 for the hospital.
Business Systems Director, Suzanne Burton, who leads our responsible business strategy, shared, “It was an honour to attend the awards and be recognised for the third time. The event was heartwarming, as we got to hear about the charity's profound impact on so many lives. Volunteers also shared their inspiring stories, showing how every contribution makes a real difference.”
As a long-standing partner of the charity, we have proudly chosen it as our charity of the year for three consecutive years. Through an annual calendar of fundraising events and one-off volunteering efforts, we’ve raised £62,000 in 2024 alone, contributing nearly £150,000 since the start of our partnership.
We’ve supported the hospital with electrical remedial works, garden clearing, varnishing, planting in the courtyard, delivering Christmas presents to children in care, and purchasing a sensory pod for the hospital—an essential piece of equipment for the children.
Additionally, we’ve participated in activities like the annual football tournament and dragon boat race, using our Management Awayday and annual raffle to raise funds in support of the hospital.
Founder Alan Lusty expressed, “The work the charity does is extraordinary, and they deserve even more support from local businesses. We’re incredibly grateful to our staff, whose enthusiasm and creativity in fundraising have made such a positive impact on the lives of young patients and their families. We couldn’t be prouder of all our employees who have helped us reach this milestone.”
