The Opportunity
In 2019, adi VCS were appointed EVCP infrastructure provider to Q-Park sites across throughout the UK by Franklin Energy.
Franklin Energy, developed an ‘own and operate’ public EV charging network with the car park operator, Q-Park. Franklin Energy owns public fast AC chargers in a number of popular key city centre car-park locations across their estate.
The flagship site is Liverpool One, and we have now installed chargers in:
- Birmingham
- Liverpool
- Leeds
- Manchester
- Sheffield
- York
The Solution
All charge points here are connected to Franklin Energy’s back office, of which we migrate their life network to the installed hardware during the commissioning stage of the installation. Franklin is then able to charge a pay-as-you-go fee to the customer. The customer has access to Franklin’s 24/7 telephone support line operated by EV Assist, and any issues that can’t be fixed remotely by EV Assist or Franklin Energy’s second line response team, will have on site attendance by adi VCS within hours.
The Benefits
EVBox and Ensto specify 22kW AC Dual charge points across the Q-Park estate. The capabilities of these charge points have allowed for easy connection to Franklin Energy’s back office, allowing their operations team to monitor the network 24/7. The team at adi VCS carry out all of the network maintenance across the Q-Park Estate.
This network is now set to increase with further 500 EVCP’s by the end of 2022.
Q-Park is an operator of parking garages in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Q-Park is number two on the European parking market. In total Q-Park controls 800,000 parking spaces on more than 3,500 locations.
