RBWeek17: Putting Responsible Business At The Heart of the Group Via Our CSR Committee
As part of Business In The Community’s Responsible Business Week 2017, we’re sharing our success stories to showcase how we’re playing our part in driving Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) across the adi Group.
Our vision is to shape business operations across the Group in a positive way that has a lasting impact on the lives of employees, the community in which we operate and the environment affected by our activities, to ensure a sustainable future. In recent years we have seen the importance of CSR grow which is why our business priorities are closely aligned to our wider business strategy.
In 2015, we published our first annual CSR and sustainability report which highlighted our vision, aspirations and achievements to date as well as our goals for this year. Whilst the Group has supported various initiatives throughout its 27 years of operations, our plan was to build upon these humble beginnings and enhance our approach.
Our mantra across the Group is continuous improvement and our CSR programme too forms part of this Group-wide initiative. We commenced with the formation of an internal CSR committee in 2012 to better drive responsible business across the Group.
The committee and its remit were redefined in 2015 to adopt a ‘less is more approach’ against a structured programme comprising four target areas for improvement to deliver our corporate vision. These are; Our People, Our Community, Our Suppliers, and Our Environment. We call this our ‘Engineering A Better Future’ programme. Each member of the CSR Committee is responsible for a particular area of CSR which includes all of the above.
But it’s more than just a committee setting the agenda…
Our CSR outreach extends down to our employees who are the driving force behind our engineering a better future programme. The staff at adi Group are active participants in our responsible business initiatives and are the drivers of its success. Whether it’s nominating colleagues for our annual internal employee awards, taking part in events to raise money for our chosen charity of the year, volunteering, working with our school partners, being mentors to our Pre-Apprentices and Apprentices or sharing best CSR practice with our supply chain. The list is endless and we are proud to have our staff on board as part of our programme remit.
We look forward to sharing more of our Responsible Business Journey with you throughout #RBWeek 2017. Keep an eye on our blog and social media channels to learn more how we’re championing responsible business etiquette at adi Group.BACK TO ARTICLES
