adi Builds Sleep Out Fundraising Target To £2,500 To Mark 25th Year
Staff at a Midlands-based engineering solutions business have pledged to raise £2,500 for St Basils Big Sleep Out, as part of their quarter century celebrations.
Kings Norton-based adi Group this year marks 25 years in business, and, in recognition of this, has more than doubled its fundraising target from previous years.
The Big Sleep Out has been raising awareness of youth homelessness in the city since 1990 – encouraging fundraisers to swap a Friday night in for cold cardboard shelters for one night a year.
adi Group will be participating in the Big Sleep Out for the third time this year, with a group of 20 individuals taking part.
Working with young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, St Basil’s runs prevention, accommodation and support services in Birmingham, Sandwell, Solihull, Worcestershire, the Wyre Forest and Coventry.
Alan Lusty, chief executive at adi Group, said: “St Basils is a fantastic charity, and one particularly close to our hearts, as they have facilities located very near to our headquarters aiding disadvantaged young people and families in our area.
“Last year we almost doubled our target, and this year we hope to raise as much as possible to support this incredibly important organisation.”
Barry Hodge, head of fundraising for St Basils, added: “We always think it’s wonderful when businesses really get behind helping the young people in their local communities. Thanks so much to ADI for taking on this challenge again this year and for convincing so many of their colleagues to take part too.”
